SEOUL – EDAM Entertainment announced on May 15 that singer-songwriter IU will release her highly anticipated third remake album, “Flower Bookmark Three,” on May 27 at 6 PM KST. This album continues her beloved “Flower Bookmark” series, celebrated for IU’s unique reinterpretations of classic Korean songs delivered with her distinctive lyrical voice and emotional depth.
The “Flower Bookmark” series began with its first installment in 2014, followed by a second album in 2017. This new release marks a significant return to the series after nearly eight years, generating considerable excitement among fans. It is also IU’s first musical offering since her sixth mini-album, “The Winning,” which was released in February 2023.
The unveiled album cover art evokes a strong sense of warm, analog nostalgia, resembling a faded film photograph. In the image, IU is depicted leaning against an old public telephone, gazing into the camera, effortlessly capturing a vintage charm that resonates with a feeling of history and sentimentality.
Throughout the previous “Flower Bookmark” albums, IU earned widespread critical acclaim for her fresh yet respectful approach to reinterpreting classics such as “Autumn Morning,” “Your Meaning,” and “Sleepless Rainy Night.” By successfully blending the original charm of these songs with her unique artistic voice, she has built a track record that fuels anticipation for the song selection on “Flower Bookmark Three.”
Beyond her celebrated music career, IU remains a prominent figure in acting and live performances. Last year, she successfully headlined a solo concert at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. Her versatility was recently showcased through her impressive dual-role performance in the popular Netflix series ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines’.
