Several South Korean food companies have suspended product deliveries to Homeplus, a major local retail chain currently undergoing court-led corporate restructuring.

Binggrae, a leading Korean dairy and snack manufacturer, halted deliveries to Homeplus on May 24, citing unresolved negotiations over contract terms.

This marks Binggrae’s first such suspension, even though the company had continued supplies when Homeplus initially filed for court receivership in March.

Maeil Dairies, another major dairy company, has also stopped supplying some refrigerated products due to inventory-related issues.

Consumers are growing concerned that a supply disruption similar to what occurred in March may be repeating.

At that time, several companies-including Ottogi, Dongseo Food, and Lotte Chilsung Beverage-temporarily halted supplies to Homeplus following the company’s bankruptcy announcement.

The Seoul Dairy Cooperative, Korea’s largest dairy co-op, also suspended deliveries on March 20 due to failed contract negotiations and only resumed supplies 43 days later, on May 2.
