On the 21st (local time), South Korea’s leading food company Nongshim opened its first “Shin ramyeon Snack Bar,” an experience space for its instant noodle (ramyeon) products, near the world-renowned tourist destination Machu Picchu in Peru.
Nongshim plans to expand engagement with global consumers visiting Machu Picchu and provide them with an opportunity to experience the Nongshim ramen brand.
The Shin Ramyeon Snack Bar in Peru is located in Aguas Calientes, the essential gateway to Machu Picchu. The three-story venue features a first floor where visitors can cook and taste the ramen themselves. The second and third floors serve as exhibition spaces showcasing the history of Shin Ramyeon and highlighting Nongshim’s key product portfolio, which has helped the brand grow into a global name.
Nongshim plans to operate “Shin Ramyeon Snack Bars” at major tourist destinations around the world to actively promote the spicy flavor of Shin Ramyeon and the Nongshim brand to global consumers. The company is set to open a Shin Ramyeon Snack Bar in Asia during the first half of this year and is considering expanding to additional global landmarks in the future.
A Nongshim representative stated, “We hope that the ‘Shin Ramyeon Snack Bar’ will become a popular spot where people can enjoy landmarks from around the world, just like our Shin Ramyeon experience sites in Switzerland’s Jungfrau, known as the ‘roof of Europe,’ and Punta Arenas, Chile, the southernmost city on Earth.” The representative added, “We will continue to strengthen our experiential marketing efforts to directly engage with global consumers.”
