Lotte Homeshopping, a South Korea-based home shopping company that operates TV and digital sales channels, has signed an exclusive export agreement with Polyphenol Factory for its functional hair loss shampoo brand, “Gravity.”
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed on May 11 at Porte de Versailles in Paris, France. Under the deal, Lotte Homeshopping will export 10,000 bottles of Gravity annually to five countries, including France and Italy, with plans to expand into over 10 countries through localized strategies and new partnerships.
Originally launched exclusively through Lotte Homeshopping in 2023, Gravity quickly gained traction, selling out in four consecutive broadcasts and reaching cumulative sales of 150,000 bottles. The shampoo’s key selling point is its patented ingredient LiftMax 308™, developed by Polyphenol Factory—a KAIST spin-off founded by chemistry professor Hae-Shin Lee. The ingredient has been clinically proven to help reduce hair loss.
Lotte Homeshopping believes Gravity’s high customer satisfaction and repurchase rate demonstrate strong potential in global markets. The two companies aim to build on the brand’s domestic success and generate synergy overseas.
Lotte Homeshopping began its partnership with Polyphenol Factory in September 2023 to co-develop and commercialize functional cosmetics. The shampoo’s debut drew attention after 20,000 bottles sold within 60 minutes of broadcast.
“Gravity has proven both its scientific strength and market appeal,” said Lotte Homeshopping CEO Kim Jae-kyum. “Through this exclusive export agreement, we’re ready to take this product beyond Korea and expand its presence globally.”
